Client Training
Clients can sometimes make our jobs harder and they don’t intend it. They have a problem they can’t solve themselves. Most of the time it’s because they don’t know how to do it. When clients are confused, they can be combative and obstinate, and your receptionist doesn’t get paid enough to take the bullets thrown her way.
Client Education should help you sell your services, provide your skills, and get paid on time.
Keys to Great Client Education Content
Client education or client training content needs to be simple. You’re an expert in what you do, and you know a lot more than you think. If you can break it down and simplify what you’re trying to share, it’ll make working with your ideal client that much easier.
When the solution you’re offering is easier to understand, your ideal client will have an easier time being converted into a sale and then paying the invoice. A lot of service providers state that having invoices paid on time is a problem, and this helps alleviate it.
Client training has to be bite-sized and easy to scan through. Most people are scan-readers, so make sure what you’re providing has great headings, uses bold fonts strategically, and uses pictures with descriptions around them to make it easy to understand.
Samples and Examples Of Client Training
All Phase Electric & Generac
When All Phase Electric decided to pursue purchasing and servicing Generac generators, they and their clients had a rather long growth curve. There was a lot of information and most of it was either hard to find or confusing.
Frankie combed through the information Generac had already provided and tried a couple of different ways to share the information.
This information is clearly laid out on their website and comes up in Google searches.
She also created PDF flyers that were easy to print, mail out, or email. These went out along side generator installation invoices, were left when the technicians serviced the generators, and were shared when clients called requesting the information.
Perspective Practice Classes
Makayala Beasley offers an amazing service as a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor, but she was having a hard time communicating to clients what she offered and why it was necessary.
After sitting down with her and completing an initial consultation, and then walking through the her sessions, Frankie was able to create a tri-fold that Makayla could have printed.
Armed with this, she was able to leave her pamphlets at doctors’ offices, send them with clients, and share her services in a way customers could easily understand.
