Is Your Business Actually Set Up to Support You?
(Or is it just another job with a prettier logo?)
I’m good at construction management.
I finally made full project manager at an electrical contractor recently — after carrying the responsibilities without the title (or the pay) for years.
The pay is… on par for a woman in my industry. I’m currently making $15 less an hour than I would if I were a man.
That’s not why I’m here, though.
I’m building Rippling Roots because I want something that’s mine.
I want to nurture the people around me — doing work I love, in a way that feels right. I love building people. I love telling stories. And I love-love-love writing.
Don’t get me wrong — I love construction.
We build things.
And I love building.
But I’m not building my way.
Most days, I have to shut off half my personality just to "fit in" and "get the job done."
I miss the business I built before.
The one that felt aligned.
The one where I could actually live inside my own skin.
This came to a head the other day — when I got mad at my daughter for wanting to spend time with me.
Yeah.
You heard that right.
I felt anger — at this little person I love — because she wanted me.
Because she needed me.
Because I had nothing left to give.
Waking Up
I realized I hadn’t done for myself the very thing I do for my clients.
I was investing just enough in myself to keep the lights on — but not enough to thrive.
Maybe you’re there too.
Maybe you built your business for freedom...
Alignment...
Control over your time, your energy, your life.
And now?
You’re holding everything together with late nights, scattered systems, and sheer force of will.
You are the business.
And you’re exhausted.
Here’s the truth:
Most women aren’t just burned out from doing too much.
We’re burned out from doing too much without support.
Without systems.
Without structure.
Without space to breathe.
We’re running full-throttle inside businesses that were never designed to hold us.
Ask yourself:
Are you the only one who knows how everything runs?
Does content creation feel like screaming into the void?
Are you spending more time chasing tasks than building something that lasts?
Do you secretly dread the success of your next launch because you don’t know how you’ll deliver it?
If any of that hits—this isn’t about failure.
This is about foundation.
What if your business could be your safety net instead of another source of stress?
I looked at my own business and realized that I had a lot to offer, but it wasn’t connecting.
That’s weird, right? That I, of all people, would create something that didn’t connect?
Look, when it’s your stuff, I can see the connections needed with ease, but when it’s mine? Well… I need a little help.
So, I invested the time and documented the system I’ve been using for my clients over well over a decade.
I used it on myself.
And it really cleared a lot of the mess.
I now have a working introductory offer, a mid-level offer, and a high ticket offer, with more in the works. I have so much more in the works that I’m insanely excited about and can’t wait to share with you.
My energy is up. And… I spent the night playing games with my kiddo and my husband without feeling guilty.
It was amazing!
So, if that sounds like something you’d like, take a look at the offer seed workbook. It comes with a nurture email sequence, so check your emails.
Look, when I look around and can’t find a solution that’s easy and readily available, I create it.
And then I practice using it to see if it’s really worth something.
Then, when it has value, I send it out into the world so others can use the tools I’m building.
If you’re not connecting with your clients the way you want, or if your ads are too expensive, or if you’re getting clients that piss you off, take a look at your offer.
Are you aligned with your ideal client and your values?
Are you offering to do things that build energy you can use in life?
If not, it’s time to strategize a change.
